Speed Performance

Alpha Dog is made for All-Around players that tend to play the ball close to the table. For those that do play close to the table, our testing team found that Alpha Dog will produce more than enough speed to keep your opponent on defense and allow you to dictate play. For players who farther off the table, a bit more effort will be needed to create pace when striking the ball. That being said, for an all wood blade, Alpha Dog still has the ability to generate solid offensive speed!

Control Performance

If you are looking for ball placement and control, Alpha Dog is a brilliant choice to fit your game. Regardless of if you are looking to use underspin, topspin, or flat shots, placing the ball on the table will be a breeze. Where this blade really sets itself apart from the competition is its ability to defensively control the ball. Players who like to play defense from time to time will immediately fall in love with this blade due to its diversity.

Touch Performance

The soft outer veneer and harder core of Alpha Dog allow players great feel/touch of the ball without losing the capacity to generate speed. Our testing team noted that this wood combination was able to generate a substantially longer dwell time on the blade, allowing our team to really feel the ball on short pushes, loops, and blocks.

Consistency Performance

Alpha Dog really stands out when it comes to its consistency. This is not only a blade for All-Around Advanced players, but because of its consistency and ability to be so dynamic, it is also perfect for newer players looking to increase their skills. When testing Alpha Dog on a robot, our team found it to be extremely efficient in placing the ball in the same spot time and time again.

Rubber Performance Details

Serve Performance

Our testing team fell in love with the serving capabilities Spin Mystic brought to their games. Whether top, flat, under, or side spin, they had fantastic results with placement as well as ball rotation. This rubber really shines with short underspin serves. The porus sponge also allowed them to put some incredible pace on their serves when required.

Topspin Performance

Spin Mystic was specifically designed for players that want astonishing amounts of topspin. Though this rubber and sponge combination was created for ball rotation, our testers found that it can still generate high speed and accurate ball placement on topspin shots.

Looping Performance

If you are a player that is confident in your looping ability, Spin Mystic will take your looping game to the next level. The complete confidence our testing team had in their loops was very noticeable. Even advanced angled loops consistently found the opponents side of the table.

Push Performance

Our testing team was most impressed with was the placement and control Spin Mystic brought to their pushing game. High spin focused rubbers can have the tendency to launch the ball off the table and lose control. The rubber sponge combo in Spin Mystic allowed our testing team to direct the ball in strategic locations accurately, while maintaining a great deal of underspin.

Chop Performance

Chopping with Spin Mystic might be difficult for Beginner to Intermediate players. It does have a bit of a learning curve if you do not know how to properly control and counter the spin of opposing players. Players that are Intermediate+ or higher will be able to return lethal amounts of underspin to their opponents with a properly executed chop.

Block Performance

Spin Mystic is perfect for using your opponents speed and spin against them. Because of the porous sponge composition, our testers found that, when angled correctly, typical defensive blocks quickly became offensive assets. In numerous cases our testing team found their blocks had the ability to shift the offensive/defensive dynamic of the point.

Flat Hit Performance

The Spin Mystic rubber and sponge combo was primarily developed to produce ample amounts of spin. Understandably, because of its composition, it does not excel at flat hits. Like all rubbers, our testing team did become familiar with the rubbers characteristics over time and were able to produce flat hits fairly consistently. That being said, this rubber would not be for players that primarily utilize flat hits in their game.

Flick Performance

Simply put, Spin Mystic can/should be used by players that deploy a great deal of backhand flicks. The rubber sponge combo allows the ball to sit on your blade for optimum table placement, spin, and power. Whether it is close to the net or behind the table, our testing team found Spin Mystic to be second to none when it came to offensive flicks.

It is truly amazing how well balanced this blade is. It can do everything... and everything quite well! Our testing team found real no weaknesses in any aspect of its game. Alpha Dog offers a lot of control and feeling, especially when players are blocking or looping near table. The speed is perfect for near-table offensive players. If you are a player wanting a well rounded game, Alpha Dog might be the perfect blade for you to step your game up!

It is almost impossible to beat the versatility of this All-Around (ALL) blade.

Spin Mystic is made for players that want tremendous spin without surrendering speed or control. Players that love to play with backhand and forehand pushes will find that there is no place on the table this rubber and sponge combo cannot direct their ball. Spin Mystic brilliantly uses your opponent’s spin against them when blocking. Because of its porous sponge and rubber composition, Spin Mystic excels at Looping while still providing exceptional ball placement. Players will see remarkable spin and accuracy, not only in their rallies, but also in their service game.
